Meet Michele Wilson Owner Of Ma Michele's Cafe

What do you do when your fondest memories are at your mother’s elbow in the kitchen?  What’s the next

step for a woman who smiles broadest as she recalls her Grandmother’s southern cooking in Petersburg, VA?  A café to recreate all of the culinary magic and provide a home away from home for the community, of course!

Michele Wilson created Ma Michele’s Café in 2010 after realizing that her passion for the culinary arts outweighed her desire to be a part of corporate America.  Encouraged by a belief in self and inspired by the legacy of her mother and grandmother, she took a leap of faith and began pursuing her dreams.  “I started in my kitchen baking cakes and literally going door to door to sell them wondering if I had lost my mind!”

Understanding that big dreams often begin with small steps, Michele opened her first café inside of a flea market in South Richmond and watched it flourish for two years.  When the flea market closed its doors Michele took it as a sign to amplify her dream by enrolling in culinary school where she further elevated her craft.

Four years of culinary education, and two active locations later, Michele is the proud owner and operator of Ma Michele’s Café in the Victorian Square Shopping Center at 10811 Hull Street in Midlothian, VA.  Ma Michele’s serves “comfort food for people who need comfort and we serve it with our own hands”.  Come in, sit, enjoy a glass of sweet tea (or a selection of our wine or beer, if that’s your preference) and let us prepare a meal from our hearts to fill your belly.
